My Dinner Table🍴

Daily writing prompt
If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

The top 10 people I would invite to dinner knowing they would absolutely 100% come would be..

Kelvene and my niece and namesake Sadie (Best Friend)

My Dad (deceased)

Katherine (Friend in Brisbane)

Sabine (Foster Mum)

My Son

My Daughter

My David (Partner)

Lorbrey Saylor-Nawie (Grandfather deceased)

James Nawie (Great Grandfather deceased)

Nana (deceased)

My reasoning for bringing all of these people together is for us all to share different parts of my life. My childhood, my Dad and Nana, my adolecence, Kelvene, Katherine and Sabine and my present.. My partner, my son and my daughter.

And the two people I’m most intrigued about on my family tree is my mothers father Lorbrey and his Dad James Nawie. Both whom I never met. I’d like to learn about my culture and totems and language. I’d love to hear of their lives and what island life was like. I think that they would have so many good stories to tell and my kids would hear of the old ways too.

  1. What a deeply heartfelt guest list….. woven with memory, love, legacy and curiosity. Bringing together the past and present to share your story is not just meaningful, it’s sacred.
