Write about your approach to budgeting.

My approach to budgeting nowadays is to not to.
My partner David, whom has qualifications in accounting deals with all our financials.
David and I have a shared billing account from which all our bills come out of and he works out how much we each need to contribute to that account each pay day.
Whatever’s left from each of our pays is ours to keep to do with what we will.
At the moment I’m the only one whom can afford to save and save usually around 50% of whatever’s leftover.
We save for our car servicing and for weekend getaways and/or holidays mostly.
David surprises me every now and then with a date and it makes me appreciate him more when I know he’s saved to do that for me.
At the moment I contribute $2200 a fortnight into the bills account and David pays $696 a week although this varies week to week.
I obviously pay more as I am paying off two car loans.
Overall this works for us and I’m grateful to have my son spoil me now and then with the things I want but can’t afford.
And I have money put away to borrow from myself when I need to.
