Sleep Apnea Life 🫩

Daily writing prompt
What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

Three years ago I went to a conference out of town and shared a hotel room with my co-worker whom is a nurse. After the first morning she told me I had Sleep Apnea.

Around a year later I did a sleep study and it was found to be true.

All wired up for the sleep study

And another year after that I started using a Sleep Apnea Machine.

During winter I hardly use the CPAP machine as it constantly blows cold air and makes me sick with cold and flue like symptoms and chapped lips.

So in winter I have a lot of broken sleep.

At the moment I go to bed at 10pm. I wake up almost every hour. I sometimes get up again at 12am to clean, watch tv or blog and go to bed again at around 2.30am-3am.

I wake up at 5am when David leaves for work and then set my alarm for 8am most mornings.

In Summer and the warmer months, when I use my machine, I go to bed at 10pm, wake up once or twice only to pee and usually get some good rest.

I then wake up with David at 4.30am, make him breakfast, make sure he has everything, kiss him goodbye and stay on the phone with him him until he starts work at 6.30am.

I then go back to bed and wake up at 8am-8.30am.

Last night though, I went to bed at 10pm and didn’t wake up until 8.10am this morning! I do remember David coming in at 5am and kissing him goodbye, but then I fell straight back to sleep and got a total of 10 hours of good sleep!

I messaged my son I was that shocked, it was the most amount of sleep I have had in years!
